Our Story

Sometimes you stumble onto a treasure not knowing what you actually have until you have the opportunity to spend time to experience the gift you have been given.  My wife (Pam) and I were looking for a hunting dog for our grandson, who had a passion for hunting, but did not have a dog.  It was our son, who recommended we look at the pudelpointer breed based on the research he had been doing, due to his dogs (German Shorthairs) retiring soon.  I had spent thirty-eight years in education and wasn't really looking for a dog, knowing it would be living with grandma and grandpa.  However, as fate would have it, we purchased a pudelpointer and I have fallen in love with this breed.  My wife and I have always had a dog (house), but we were not planning to add to our family.  Then our grandson entered the picture and inquired about us purchasing a hunting dog to accompany him on his many hunting trips.  Let's just say we were "on it."  We purchased a dog for Teagon and a year later, and after a considerable amount of research, I purchased a female (Ripsnorter's Belle) from Jeff George, owner of Ripsnorter Kennel out of Utica, Ohio.  Jeff and Ripsnorter Kennel have an excellent history in the Pudelpointer industry and testing in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA).  Jeff has been, and continues to be, an excellent mentor.  His experience and success with breeding, training, testing, and hunting Pudelpointers and his willingness to share that knowledge with people who are new to the sport, business, and breed qualifies him as someone I am proud to represent and recommend to others.  With Jeff's encouragement, I joined the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) and a local NAVHDA Chapter and started testing my own dogs.

Needless to say, I am hooked on the Pudelpointer and only wish I had found this breed thirty years ago.  Our goal is to provide others with an opportunity to experience this exceptional breed.  We are dedicated to breeding for quality, health, temperament, hunting qualities, conformation, and great representatives of the breed.
